About The Hadjidakis Foundation

Empowering women to become entrepreneurs

The Hadjidakis Foundation is a charity that seeks to provide basic property maintenance training to unskilled and unemployed women. We want to improve the lives of as many women in South Africa as we can, who have no opportunities to improve themselves.

We do this by teaching them a skill set and providing a practical internship opportunity – and in so doing, it strengthens their CV and opens up earning opportunities.

Mission

Vision

Model

IMPROVING LIVES ONE SKILL-SET AT A TIME

We hope to be the go-to skills-development foundation for women who wish to add value and meaning to their lives through our skills programme.

GROWTH THROUGH LEARNING AND PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES

At The Hadjidakis Foundation, we envision a future where unskilled women can uplift themselves from poverty and stereotypical lifestyles. We can assist the unemployed through our fully sponsored 12-week hands-on training programme.

THE MOBILE OPPORTUNITY MODEL

The financial model should fund:

  • Salary of the owner and the assistant
  • Running Expenses
  • Monthly contributions to brand (pay-it-forward principle)
  • Repayment of mobile business unit (for ownership)

All applicants will have to go through a process of various tests, questionnaires and interviews in order to determine their aptitude and seriousness. This will help us find the most appropriate and capable candidate in order to improve the outcome. The curriculum includes Health and Safety, Inspection & Use of Hand Tools and all materials as well as Basic Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, tiling, plastering and painting skills development.

An Entrepreneurial Step

In The Right Direction

Once our candidates have completed their 12-week practical training, they have the opportunity to take an entrepreneurial journey with The Foundation. HandyMa’am is the brand vehicle where these women can practically apply their new skills and be empowered to own their own business.

The Foundation will help the successful candidates to manage their mobile unit by:

  • being their mentor
  • providing professional business acumen
  • helping with brand building and marketing
  • with the help of a working app
